Say WHAT?!?!?!? Have you ever held/touched a 15k rpm drive in use, even
sitting at idle? There's a reason scsi hotswap and other scsi enclosures
have high capacity fans to keep the drives cool. They generate a LOT of heat.
I have several here and have installed several dozen in servers for clients.
Extra cooling is MANDATORY for these drives.

I didn't say that 15k drives didn't need extra cooling. I even had extra cooling for my Seagate 10K Cheetah but the drive itself wasn't loud as some one else claimed even tho the fans did add some extra noise. The average user does not need hi performance drives such as these. One reason they get so hot is because they get used more simply because they are so fast. I can't think of a reason not to use a fast drive can you? ;-)
