Doubt it. Nero Burning rom seems the DL disk appropriately, it's just NVE 
that doesn't, when you create a new project, it only shows 4.7gb capacity. It 
then says the project is to large for the disk and decides to transcode it 
down to about 3.5gb.

Nope, it was an NEC ND3500 which IIRC, didn't come with s/w

If it didn't work at all for DL, I'd consider that.

No

Yes, no problem there, made a DL copy of a scratched disk using DVD Decryptor 
and the same dvd writer and it plays back fine in the recorder and my 
consumer dvd player.
