On those rare occasions where you might want to use WEB mail
at 1&1, because the WEB mail server is there too, it automatically
time stamps everything with that local time too... And they have
no settings for that in their VERY under-featured WEB mail or settings,
and no plans to fix it any time soon...
WEB mail: Can't make storage mail boxes, or even a sent box...
(Maybe they give you nothing in their old free plan...)
