Because it was ***RENAMED*** to newuser.
Because it was ***EDITED*** to newuser.
Because it was ***CHANGED*** to newuser.
Because it is sitting right there in front of you, staring you in
the face. Only it has a new name.
When the above takes place, a new folder is ****NOT**** created for
the newuser, it just continues using the olduser folder.
Got it??? :)
Nope. ;-)
If they had created c:\My Documents & had changed the paths for the
various name spaces such as desktop, favorites & temps etc. XP still
would create a c:\documents and settings\newuser folder unless the
newuser acct was NOT created brand spanking new.
So are the olduser's files in the newuser's folder after the
renaming, editing or changing? I'm surprised that MSFT allows user
names to be renamed just to prevent situations such as this from
arising. You'll notice that the only place that renaming of users is
on a context menu is in lusrmgr.msc when one right clicks on a users
name. Hmmm, that's interesting, so I'd say that MSFT really doesn't
want the user names to be edited but YMMV.
