Plunk down say $50 to a few hundred dollars and now you have an antenna that will allow you to pickup signals from over a mile away. That means the next neighbourhood over could be surfing on your connection. > and you think they will hack your WiFi network, by all means > use WEP/WPA instead of MAC security. >From my point of view, I go through this regularly with both business and residential clients, is most people don't understand how easy it is to receive wifi signals for over a mile away. With the proper antenna, 2 - 4 times that distance is easily possible. WEP is dead, use WPA or better. Another good choice is WPA and Lucidlink Their site won't resolve for me atm http://www.lucidlink.com However this sorta seems to work http://www.interlinknetworks.com/lucidlink/ However you can find a few writeups here http://www.snapfiles.com/get/lucidlink.html and here http://www.findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m0EIN/is_2005_April_18/ai_n13627878 -- Harondel J.
