DISH satellite TV is all digital right now and I suspect that DirecTV is too, and their programming can be viewed on analog sets. Both are now carrying local channels which also arrive from the satellite in digital form but are also converted to analog. I would be surprised if most/all cable systems have not converted to digital by the cutoff date too and the ones which already are convert for viewing on existing analog sets.
The only thing "up in the air," so to speak, is the local OTA broadcasts, and just last week our illustrious porkers up in Washington decided to distribute several billion dollars of public money for set top boxes so "no one will be left behind." (Getting a little tired of that phrase; every time I hear it I can feel someone's hand in my pocket!) Looks like this is going to become a non-issue pretty quickly... - Bill Hatcher [EMAIL PROTECTED] - -----Original Message----- From: Windows Home/SOHO [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Wayne Johnson Sent: Tuesday, October 25, 2005 18:17 To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [WINHOME] Music Downloads and DRM in genera At 05:37 PM 10/25/2005, Don Guillett typed: >As I understand it, 2009 analog will stop and old sets OVER THE AIR, won't >get a signal but cable and dish will. Hmmmm? So if one has cable or satellite they'll still be able to receive on their old analog sets. -- ---------------------------------------- The WIN-HOME mailing list is powered by L-Soft's renowned LISTSERV(R) list management software.
