I was installing a new XP machine yesterday and while creating a user account, it asked if I wanted to make the user's files "private" so that other users couldn't see them, so I did.

Turns out it prevents users with Admin privileges, too!

IIRC that should only happen if the new user is an Admin also.

I'd like to turn that off but cannot find a way. Anyone know?

Demote that user by logging into the User's Acct & demote him to a power user if you are working with Pro but if you're working with Home then you'll have to ask someone else. Home doesn't have as many User types or settings.

I'm asking, I'm asking!! :-)

Actually, this is an XP Pro machine and it has only "administrative" and
"limited".

If you had an XpPe disk with the correct utility you could do all this without having to boot into Windows at all.

Hmmm...XpPe disk, huh? I guess I can't continue to avoid it, eh? ;-)
