I had read MANY times on the old Roxio e-mail support list that
DirectCD can not be disabled in any way. You either need to have
and use it, or you need to un-install it and forget about it.
It is a low-level program that loads drivers - and if those drivers
load and you kill the GUI -- it goes "nuts" and is also un-controllable...
