I overlooked the fact that my brand-new PC has NIS running! I promise to get
rid of it as soon as I get home!
Both PCs see the other in the workgroup, but the XP is complaining about not
having permission to look further (the '98 doesn't care!).
Files transferred, problem solved! If only they were all so easy!
