I think that the best way to deal with it is to reinstall with XP.. 98
and its brethren are security nightmares.
Well, the CPU in this laptop is just tolerable in win98. XP would huff and
puff.
Have you actually tried it with XP? I think you'd be surprised. You can
turn off the CPU-robbing bells and whistles. I have XP running pretty
decently on an old AMD K6-2 333MHz laptop with 128MB shared RAM.
