P.S. to this: An unintentional result of step 5 may be a failure to boot (blue screen). If that happens, reboot and press F8 for the safe mode choices. Choose "Last known good configuration". This will put back everything that you disabled in Autoruns under "Services". Check to see if the problem is solved - if not, get the anti-spyware programs I mentioned, install and update them, then boot into safe mode and scan with them.
