Yes it will have to be before any other hardware can be installed.
After you've installed the mb drivers from the mb driver cd install the nic
drivers first so that you can get to the internet and go search other hardware
drivers and take it from there.

The mb chipset driver HAS to be installed *first*, before any
NIC or usb drivers are installed.
