I recently took the plunge and completely uninstalled NSW 2005, which included NAV. This is the first time I haven't had software with Peter Norton's name (if not his soul) running in years. I honestly can't believe how much better my system runs; boots faster, applications load and run faster, virtually no freeze-ups, etc. I switched to AVG-free and am currently looking around for a utility suite, as much for my own amusement as anything. I'm considering System Mechanic 6. BTW, I am running XP-Pro w/ auto update enabled.
Happy New Year to all of you on the List, especially those of you who have tolerated my perpetually state of newbie-ness for all these years. A specific example is NSW 2003 was the last good version but after that it went downhill fast but that's JMNSHO & YMMV but probably NOT. Some would say the last good version of MSFT Office was '97 but I'm sure there are those that would argue that point; therefore, much of what is good is in the eye of the beholder. ----------+---------- Wayne D.
