thanks everyone... talk about lesson in futility. the tablet is so bad off
it wouldn't boot from SD card. My daughter wants a laptop for med school so
i got a cheap toshiba (the $700 AR toshibas from Best buy are quite nice for
the price) so i can get my work done (i'll still come out ahead after i get
paid for the work i needed finished by Tues) and will give it to her before
she goes to med school.
just to be sure it wasn't a problem with the files wayne sent, i made a boot
sd card using TI installed on the new machine- apparently winodws reads the
bad file before checking boot devices because it refused to boot with the
files written directly the the card.
