I agree, you'd be wasting your time.  Any converter would not make a "USB
scanner" out of your parallel port scanner.

Given what we now know, this scanner is a boat anchor as far as Windows XP
is concerned.  Time to move on...

thanks, carl, but that is for the pagescan usb scanner. the ones i have 
are pagescan color plus, using parallel port connections.  i have 
considered buying an inexpensive parallel port to usb converter, if they 
exist, and hooking up via a usb port, and trying the xp logitech usb 
scanner drivers. something tells me that i'd be wasting my money. any 
feelings on that?
