Were talking about 2 different things here. The MPAA & others are wanting to add a "broadcast flag" claiming that all they're doing is protecting their copyrights which I'm not against but the fact that the "broadcast flag" will only work with digitally connected HDTV sets. It's not a format change as laser disks & betamax was but rather an add on. This is more like locking the door after the big bad burglar is in your house in that they're literally millions of sets out there that are not digitally connected not to mention the dvd players that people have connected via analog component cables.

I'm not against copyrighted material just deliberately breaking what already works because they didn't have the foresight to protect themselves I have to throw away an otherwise perfectly good HDTV set. I don't think so & shall fight with every ounce of my being.
