Today I was attempting to do the same with full CD and it gave me the error about not being able to integrate into a distribution that already has updates integrated. Turns out that the full CD isn't an original release of XP (as I thought), but is XPSP1. So, it won't let me integrate SP2 into it.

My question is: If I use all the files from my upgrade CD except setup.exe, and use setup.exe from the full CD, would that work to give me a full XPSP2 installation CD? The reason I'm asking is because the two have different product keys, of course, and they aren't interchangeable.

Did you dump the files from your Sp1 CD to some temp location on your HD prior to trying to integrate Sp2 ? If you have then what happens if you delete Win51ip.sp1 from that folder & then try to integrate? Do you get the same error?

I hope all of that made sense. If you feel this would be delving into a possible copyright issue and would rather answer off list, that's fine. Or if you would like to chastise me on list, that's fine, too. ;)

Consider yourself chastised. ;-)
