i'm not sure about fixing, but i do know that if you are cloning drives,
western digital's software will
work fine with 1 wd drive ahd another non-wd.
Western Digital is picky and likes to fix only their drives. Maxtor is
most likely picky, also. I, by chance, tried Seagate on an oddball
brand drive and it worked! Since then I have been cleaning off all non
WD or Maxtor drives, courtesy of Seagate. It blasts off those name
brand small partitions of around 8 MB. It most likely make your drive
overlay disappear, also.
