Get hold of "Memtest" memtest.org, and verify that your RAM is good
first.

Fdisk - Format the HDD.

Make a directory on the HDD "win98" and copy the 98se cd "win98" directory into it.

Boot from a bootable floppy. Preferably with the cd drivers on it.

from the A:\ type "C:\win98\setup" and press enter.

Follow the prompts.

I suspect that you have bad ram or an iffy cd rom drive. Bad ram is
favourite.

Let us know how you get on.

What does "Wrong NV chip revision for the resource mgr." mean.
Had got along in the installation of W98.
The driver for the VGA card was wrong so tried to change it to match.
Said to reboot for it to take effect.
Did so and it tries to start and comes up with this message and freezes.
Can not CAD even.
Have to shut off the power to restart.
Anyone have an idea besides formatting and starting over.
Sam
