I use Sonic's RecordNow: it also has this ISO (bootable) function, but it
hasn't worked yet. I need to buy some more blanks, then I'll try again (RTFM
as well!).

If using Nero 6 or 7 you need to go to the menu Recorder/Burn Image/ then
browse to the [filename].ISO then click OK.
You need to think of an image as an archive such as a zip or rar that when
you select the above menu options Nero will extract that image as it's
burning it.
In Nero 5.5 the menu item I believe is under File instead of Recorder.
