I know nothing about National Access.

I just connected to the web using my Laptop. Once there, I'm "national"
anyway..............and..................I can connect from anywhere that I can
use my cell phone.

It;s a dial-up account to Express Network (1XRTT).

It's slower'n cold molasses, but it's better than $50-70 per month.

I have three icons on my desk related to Verizon. One is Fast Connect
which is a network connection with the numbers you mentioned.....
my phone [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a dial # of 777. It doesn't work.
Password gets denied.

Another one is Verizon with the user name of "gnc" and also 777. It
doesn't work either.

The other one, which is always the one I used, is a picture of a globe and
a red phone sitting on about half of it. Anyway, It;s QuickLink Mobile.
I don't even know the number it dials, but it connects.

I called a supervisor at Verizon and they said that it was a "back door"
thing that they found out about and closed. Yeah sure! I told her they
can't close a door on something they sold me. That's their problem.
Maybe they "grandfathered" me back in. She did use that term when
I got on her case. Anyway, as you said, Wayne, most support folks
know somewhat less than the average user <smile>. Well, maybe you
didn't say exactly that, buy made me think that anyway.

So then, there is still the question of whether the LG 8100 will work that
way?? If I'm connecting that way am I connecting with the packet thing
you were speaking of? Maybe I'm gonna have to get a "less" phone
rather than a "more" phone <smile>.

Regards,

Jim
