We are talking about the same thing, slightly different terminology!

Don't forget the 110 baud acoustic coupler. SneakerNet was 
faster. 

As far as the acoustic coupler was concerned, I never had a 110 baud 
one.  When I threw mine in the bin, it was because the rubber cups had 
perished.
