Seeing as we are way off course here.....................
I remember one computer some 10 years ago was freezing up running Win 95.
Couldn't figure it so ran
it with the lid off and all was Ok! So - temperature came to mind. Cant
remember if there was a
fan on the CPU but I don't think there was. Went around the board until I got
burnt by an IC. on
checking it was the "graphics driver" - so bloody hot.
I got a couple of ice cubes from the freezer and stuffed them in a plastic bag
and sat it on the IC
(chip) no problems but what to do................ disable and fit cheapo card
but not before I tried
fitting a heat sink but the glue kept cracking of due to the heat!
Another weird computer that got shoved my way was a real oldie with - wait for
it - serial port
monitor graphics. Ever seen that?????

Remember. You may honestly believe that you understood everything
you thought I said but what you thought you heard wasn't
exactly what I said.
