If a ISP will allow a dial-up connection without installing their
software, they are on my Good list. For years we could dial into
People PC, connect and use our browser, mail client etc. without
installing their software. Lately we can not. We put the email
address and password into the Windows Dialer, dial in to People PC
and it connects with no problem. The problem is when we try to
access the internet with our browser or mail client all we get is a
prompt to download and install the People PC software. This trap
moved People PC from my Good list to my Bad list.
I don't know why this reasoning should be any different than the rest
but did you ever think that since they went to "accelerated" that
might require software now ?
