If I read this right (it seems a bit convoluted), this is a total
reversal of earlier wisdom on the subject.
All info from few years ago indicated that _unburned_ media had a
short life 2-5 years. Once burned, it had very long life, on the
order of 10-100 years.
My only proof in the pudding is that I still have CD-R's, which are
at least 5 years old and last I checked they burned w/o errors.
