Unless I have made some serious errors in reading the OEM site, or MS has
made some large changes in the rules lately, this seems wrong....
Unless you have them do it in your shop while you watch...

Very often the time comes when it is best for me to shut up since my comments could be taken as advocating breaking the rules. Sad to say, I miss my queue far too often. In this situation I will simply complain about the results and not discuss how I handle the situation.

The owner of the computer HAS to accept the License when he first turns
on the computer... I do not see how you (as a small shop) can get around that

It would be nice if the owner could accept the License on a new computer that has all of the updates installed. Microsoft blocks the updates early in the game, 1. By requiring authentication to proceed and 2. By requiring Validation to proceed further.

Microsoft is arranging matters where the customer has to handle a massive portion of the updates.

since you have never said a single word about "re-seal"...

I have never investigated the matter of authenticating, validating and then re-sealing the deal where the customer has to authenticate and validate. Or is the customer simply forced to read and agree to the EULA if you re-seal?

If I were to require my customers to authenticate and validate on new computers, this would apply to only 10% of my customers as that is all of who use my services buy a new computer from me then or later. Most of my partition, format and clean install jobs are on existing computers, name brand or ones that I sold.

Your comments are well taken as reminders to me of how Microsoft wants installations, authentications and validations handled on the new computers that I build.

Thank you,

Chuck
