figured it out (4 ghosts and 5 re-installs later). An older game offered
to install directx during it's own install, and although I chose
"cancel", somehow SOMETHING was changed.
One reason I hate games & when kids get a hold of one a install CD
most don't have the foggiest idea what the correct answers are for
the installation routine, all they know is that they want to play as
if they're still 3 or 4 yrs old. I wonder if this cements me more
deeply into the Old Farts hall of fame? ;-)
