YES but I would suggest that you also load the driver software just in case you 
ever get a SATA Hdd
and want to install it.

On another route.....  Has anybody here actually installed SATA drivers 
"easily" when loading XP at
the F6 prompt.  Every time I try it skips the F6 bit and runs straight into the 
PATA route even if I
ever wanted to install SCSI or RAID drivers........
