The problem with McAfee isn't uninstalling. It's detecting. More than a few stories of McAfee on a system missed things that other AV products caught. As always, the disclaimer applies that this may or not reflect the immediate present, but there are enough other products with no similar blemishes that I avoid both McAfee and Symantec whenever possible.

In some other circles, McAfee has the same amount of respect that >"Norton anything" has here. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but isn't it funny that people want more ways to configure an app & when those features are added they then complain it's too complicated or doesn't work correctly. FWIW I've never had McAfee not uninstall properly as Norton products often do but then again YMMV. McAfee's name went to mud when they had the ScreenScan enabled by default & of course I never use that feature so it was never an issue. Forte' Agent is going thru some of these same growing pains now. It's not that old dogs can't learn new tricks it's that many of them just don't want to bother. ----------+---------- Wayne D.
