With selective quoting you still have to highlight (select) the text
you want included. With OE, I select the text I want excluded and
hit the delete key. So, at most we're talking about one extra key
press. For novices especially, the latter method is more intuitive.

Sorry but IMHO you are in error & just because MSFT & you say something is more intuitive doesn't make it so. I know of so few if any novices that even takes one second to trim a message whether it's one extra key or not. Heck why should they when the whole message is quoted at the bottom. Maybe because they save 2 key or more key strokes & that's too much work. Even if what you're saying is true then why do so many people on this list fail to use the delete key if it's so easy? If the feature is not needed then why does every other email app include it? Why does almost every other email app bottom post instead of top post as MSFT does? Please don't tell me so that they don't have to read the same old stuff again. Don't people know how to skim? I'm sorry, I know I'm lucky that any one can even read. OBTW the reason for selective quoting is so you don't have to skim the whole diatribe for the comment that I'm referencing. MSFT went out of there way to redesign email but that does NOT make it better just like VHS isn't better than BetaMax. That's marketing & has almost nothing to do with whether the product is the best that it can be.

Heck, why should I care? I just wish I couldn't be bothered like MSFT & their fanboys & nOObs are.
