I remember having the same problem a couple of months ago. I would see
the error warning after booting up and sometimes after attempting to
open a folder on a particular hard drive. What I eventually discovered
was that the drive was going bad. I eventually could not use the
drive. Sometimes it would boot up ok and other times it would not. It
took some time to discover what was causing the problem because it
wasn't my main "C" drive. It was one of three others that I had in the
system.
You may want to go to the control panel and check the status of your
drives. Run some diagnostics on your drives. The next time you see it
in the system tray, quickly do a windows logo key & e key to bring up
the my computer icon/folder and see if it is showing a drive problem.

Lately I have been seeing a yellow triangle with an exclamation point in my
systray on a somewhat regular basis but whenever I try to open or even move the
cursor over it, it vanishes.
Any thoughts,
TIA,
Harry
