Yes... I have never seen any photo I have printed on one of them cover all the 
paper. 3/4" margin at
top 1/4" all round.  Albeit on stock photo copy paper the pic were absolute 
CRAP - dull and flat.

Actually the Minolta looks a nice piece of equipment and it has a 
"photographic" label on the front
but whether that is a selling point or hype for people like you that want a 
photo printer.

Actually if it is a multipurpose device you want I would suggest you reassess 
the need for photo
printing.

The best photo printers are thermal transfer as used in photo booths and photo 
shops and stores.
they are not cheap but also very affordable for a professional photographer or 
keen amateur
