I didn't suggest that you distinguish the two instances based on partition
number.

Do you not see the two different folder names in your boot.ini?

As in my example where I higlighted it with ^^^^^^^^^^ ?????

I'm presuming of course, that you know which folder name is the good
instance and which folder name is the bad one.

Thanks Carl.  I thought of renaming one and trying to reboot - just to 
confirm.  Both OS's are on the same partition, so the partition number 
doesn't tell me the difference.  I may try saving a copy first.  I was 
just wanting confirmation that the sequence (top-to-bottom) in boot.ini 
is the same sequence that appears on the screen.
