Nope -- the only suggestion that seems to have worked was the one that said "replace olbackup.exe with something that doesn't do anything". I'm still trying to understand what's going on with that -- as I mentioned on the thread there, there are [at least] two enigmas in this: first, is *WHY* Quicken is trying to run the online backup. I'll double check but I'm sure I've never set any such thing up; the second one is why it trashes the quicken install. I guess when running as admin, it just quietly does what it does [which does NOT involve any online backing up] and goes away, but when run out of a limited account it dies in a way that causes Quicken to trash its install... sigh... > If you want to try 'test.exe' as one of the posters suggested, you > can pick it up here: http://unxutils.sourceforge.net/ I was just hoping to find a smaller package -- I really don't need/want all the random unix utilities (although it is nice to know that they're there..:o)) But unlike the cygwin mess [where you need something like 100megs of emulation libraries before you can run the smallest program] it looks like I can just pull test.exe out of the .zip and ignore the rest... /Bernie\ -- Bernie Cosell Fantasy Farm Fibers mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Pearisburg, VA --> Too many people, too few sheep <-- -- ---------------------------------------- WIN-HOME Archives: http://PEACH.EASE.LSOFT.COM/archives/WIN-HOME.html Contact the List Owner about anything: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Official Win-Home List Members Profiles Page http://www.besteffort.com/winhome/Profiles.html
