Hi Folks
USB wiring is a nightmare sometimes. I have an EPoX mobo with a spare
USB2 double header for additional USB ports. Great I hear!
Now the USB back plate I have does not correspond to the handbook
pinout.
Handbook shows
1
+5v <> <> +5v
+ data<> <> + data
- data <> <> - data
- v <> <> - v
X <> over voltage
The problem (simple to fix) is that the plug on the end of the sockets
is as above on the left but reversed on the right and there is only one
"over voltage" connection on the board but 2 on the plug.
Q - has anyone else come up against this?
Q - could the MOBO handbook be wrong??? (doubt it)
Q - would you swap the offending wires around so the connector plug
matches the MOBO pinout diagram in the book.
