Sorry to hear your experience with Vonage was so bad. Mine has been nothing
but great. A group of us who work together switched and used their month
free deal by signing/referring a friend. Consequently, we all got a couple
months free service. The last guy who signed up is working on finding his
referral :)

I think the service is fantastic. For the first time in my life, my phone
bill is a constant number. It doesn't matter where or how long I call in
US. Before switching, I had Qwest with zero features to cut costs and was
paying through the nose. Now, I have so many features, I don't know how to
take advantage of all of them. I really like the voicemail system (I can
retrieve my home voicemail from any phone anywhere) and the call forward on
loss of power. We live where power frequently goes out. Now, if Vonage
can't get through, the phone will ring through to my cell phone.

Aside from getting it set up, I haven't had to contact Vonage at all. Yes.
I was able to keep my original phone number too.
