Actually, it can be difficult -- what that turntable really does for you is eliminate the need for a phono-preamp. I have had a *devil* of a time getting mine to work properly: between UPS's and generally sloppy grounding, I found it _very_ difficult to get my turntable set up without [unacceptable] hum coming along for the ride... it is a real PITA doing both: 1) making sure everything is properly grounded, and 2) making sure everything is properly grounded to the *SAME* ground [else you get ground loops]. [not to mention that for most people, the only phono preamp they have is a big/clunky/probablyobsolete receiver of some type that is likely nowhere NEAR their computer]. [yes, I know you can get a very neat, tiny, and not too expensive standalong phono preamp from Radio Shack-- it is just that that, together with wrestling with hum and the like, really makes it quite a bit of a nuisance and more of a techie/nerd activity than a lot of folk might want to mess with]. I could be tempted to get a turntable that just jacks into a USB port, with no fuss, no muss. /Bernie\ -- Bernie Cosell Fantasy Farm Fibers mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Pearisburg, VA --> Too many people, too few sheep <-- -- ---------------------------------------- To Change your email Address for this list, send the following message: CHANGE WIN-HOME your_old_address your_new_address to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Note carefully that both old and new addresses are required.
