Check your motherboard manual and the BIOS. If the MB has the capability then the BIOS can be set to alarm you at the temp you preset.

Subject: Shutdown utility

I've got my new XP-2200+ cpu installed and running. I have
installed SpeedFan to keep an eye on the temperature and need a
program that SpeedFan can call to shut down the computer if the
temperature gets too high. Any suggestions? I'm running Win2k.

Also does the XP-2200+ have an internal temp sens diode and how
do I know if the motherboard reports that temp or the temp from
the thermistor under the CPU socket?
