Some of us have better things to do than fight an up hill battle. The only
thing anyone can expect is you do your best at what you do. Some will
listen & some will not but that's not your fault but theirs.
Yes and most take it as out of place to discuss hardware in a Windows list.
Those frustrated people in technical support for DSL and other telephone
support services have it tough when the problem is hardware related or
Windows is screwed up. It rolls downhill in that bad hardware (in this
thread, improper ventilation) causes Windows problems, as if Windows by
default along with hackers, bugs etc. do not mess it up enough. Lately I am
seeing more problems caused in the home. When they bring their computer in,
it runs great on my bench. I point them back to the basics, just hook up
power cord, keyboard, mouse and monitor and if it runs decent then, they can
go from there to find their problem.
Oh, I did not wait in line to try to download Vista beta. I ordered the DVD.
For around ten bucks, Microsoft gives great service. They sent 2 DVD's, one
for 64 bit and one for other systems. I loaded it on a separate hard drive,
of course, just to tinker around with. Very interesting! I have lots to
learn before I start building Vista computers.
