Done that. I went ahead and copied off the few things that get saved on
c
and restored the image. Been working fine for a few days, so I think tha
t
got it.
BTW: An interesting quirk of Drive Image 7 that I never had in the old
versions. The old versions you boot from floppy disks you make during
install or start it in Windows and it will reboot. Never had any problem
restoring C. With 7 though, you need the CD which I had to dig out. Tha
t
was fine. I found it. After the restore though I got the error
message "system32\hal.dll corrupt or missing, replace it" on boot. I had
to look it up in the microsoft knowedge base and then had to use the
recovery mode from the xp disk to run bootcfg /rebuild. Then edit the
boot.ini to delete the extra os entry so it would boot without the 30
second count down. Maybe time to check out Ghost or something else. I
noticed Drive Image isn't even in local stores anymore.
