I think phone co finally realized young people won't get dsl because
they don't want landlines and offer naked dsl to get them as a
customer, probably hoping to upgrade them to a landline eventually. I
don't know how common it is, other than that a few places offer it
with no landline, others offer it with a 'vacation phone plan' which
is about half the normal fee. Sprint/Embarq does not but i sure wish
they would...
