I for one am running Office 2007 Beta 2 on Windows Vista Beta 2
Build 5472 and so far I am getting used to the tabbed interface menu
command set. Plus changing colors to the windows which are only
two choices Windows XP or Vista color sceme of which I found interesting
enough. If you install Office 2007 Beta 2 on Windows XP the color will
default to the XP color sceme (blue) otherwise if you have Vista Beta 2 if will
default to Vista color sceme (Charcol).
I choose to install Office 2007 Beta 2 on the Windows Vista Partition only and
not on XP
since Office 2007 Beta 2 will force you to uninstall any other version of
Outlook 200X
thats installed on your PC which can be a pain but other than that its the only
reason why I choose
not to install it on my XP partition.
Office 2007 Beta 2 is great so far except for one caveat: HTML e-mal rendering
issues with the Outlook 2007
HTML e-mail rendering engine. When saving e-mail in HTML format I've noticed
that Outlook 2007
saves not only the single HTML page but a folder with the same file name as the
subject it strips from
the header. Inside the folder conains all the images *.gif, jpeg, XML, XAML
scripts and so on which
is linked to the filename of the HTML file.
A word of caution here is this: If you delete either the HTML file or the
folder itself they will delete themselves
both. The files go straight into the recycle bin so don't empty the recycle
bin. What I do is right-click the recycle bin
click explore and select only the html files to restore back to their saved
locations and click restore.
The HTML rendering is very slow and sluggish and I sent a report to Microsoft
to get this issue fixed if possible
they can. They will once Office 2007 Beta to goes to RC1.

When I opened the message, I found that Diane Poremsky had written:
