Ahhh...you assumed that there was a TEL/FAX switch in the all-in-one!
Ah yes, that dirty 6 letter word... ASSUME !
However the only thing I assumed was that you were talking
about *a* fax/tel switch *somewhere* which you stated had to be
in series with *a* TAD (which you stated would NOT logistically
work). The answers were generic fax/tel SOP. I did not know
what AIO you were talking about until it was mentioned a few
posts after your OP.
BTW I looked in the manual of the hypothetical AIO, and it
states there is a fax/tel switch built-in. If it is an option,
it is not mentioned in the manual (so what else is new).
I was not suggesting alternatives. I was only answering
questions that came up about tel/fax switches in general. After
I knew which AIO, I did look at it in particular. But I knew
you had already ruled out [a/the] tel/fax switch and were
inquiring about a software solution. The whole fax/tel switch
side of the thread was moot to begin with.
Bottom line is exactly as you stated... a software solution is
the *only* way, given the inflexibility of the situation.
