A VPN to what? If it's a 3rd party service, none that I've seen offer vpn termination. Then what happens if one of the people he wants to share a file with doesn't have vpn capability. We do have vpn capability on the office router and all the laptops are equipped with VPN clients, but unless I run an ftp server internally (which isn't going to happen), vpn doesn't seem to help. :-(
I just want a service that allows sharing of files, securely and allows one to leave files on the server for an extended period of time. I know something like this exists as I've seen discussions of this on the list, but I just can't find the right search terms in the archive to come up with the answer. There was something mentioned a few months back by either Carl or Wayne IIRC, where you could upload and share files up to like 1gb but only for a couple of days, unless you paid for the service which allowed you to keep files around longer. I thought for sure I'd bookmarked it, but no such luck :-( On 30 Jul 2006 at 17:43, Kylde wrote: > couldn't you just configure a VPN on the client's machine using > something like hamachi ? -- Harondel J.
