Working for the same council can I suggest that you see the IT guys - they
should be able to restore your OS and Progs easily as for the data then if using
the network then it should all be on the Councils servers.
However if this is your own machine - you might have real problems. However you
could remove the Hdd and use it as a slave in a destop with cable adaptors and
get the data off intact unless you have done the sensible thing and put "My
Docs" on another partition. If you did then simpley reformat and reinstall.
