I've read that article yesterday and I like the comment that one user made about how his laptop burst into flames after he set it down in the passinger seat of his grandfathers Ford F-250 truck' "I see Dell commercials half a dozen times a night, saying 'What can we build for you today?' " Forqueran said. "And I say, 'Grandpa's truck.' "
I saw a report on ABC World News Tonight about the Lithium-Ion batteries containing so much power in one small space that the elements inside them heat up to such a high temperature until the battery ignites. The laptop(s) in question are supposed to automatically shutdown when it senses that the normal operating temperature has been exceeded. The report also mentioned that these Lithium-Ion batteries are so commonly used in such gadgets as iPods, Digital Cameras, cell phones, blackberries, digital dvd and flash video recorders, Sony PSP of which people use don't know if those batteries could also possibly be defective. This just makes me wonder if the Lithium-Ion betteries in my Cell Phone, Ipod or Sony PSP are defective or not and I certainly hope that none of these devices should go pompay.
