It's not likely to need much more power for the new drive than it did for
the old
then again the BIOS/motherboard may not support a drive that large
limits seem to be variously 80, 120, 135, 137 (Needs EnableLargeLBA) 160,
200, and 250Gb etc. on through 300, 400

Best bet - look up the manufacturers site for the tech specs on both drives
