my 2 IDE's (PATA, not SATA), run at 28 and 29C, so 40-55 seems
excessive, do you have SMART enabled in the BIOS to monitor the drive/s
for errors? I enable smart and then MBM5 can read the temp info &
display it in the tray. There are various free SMART apps out there to
diagnose drives (nb: I do NOT know if the same applies to SATA as to PATA)
