I'd say have a good look at the airflow possibilities within the case -
you shouldn't be running drives above 45 degrees C.

Also check that there is adequate airflow outside of the case to get fresh
air entering the case, rather than just drawing in the air that has just
been blown out of the case - as in one of those nice PC workstations with
the cubby for the PC.

I've improved airflow by putting gaffer tape over some airflow holes to stop
ejected air being drawn straight back in

Also beware of flat cables in the case routing cool air away from essential
components
I try to have much of the air for the system drawn in past the hard drives,
or if the system has a large CPU fan drawing in from the side of the case,
then make sure the exhaust air goes past the hard drives, or fit fans
specifically to cool the drives
