Elevating my router has helped some.
I could get online with my low signal strength some of the time but not  all 
of the time, with elevating the router I might now find I can get online  all 
of the time.

It depends on your wireless router on whether you  can attach different
antennas to it to broadcast a stronger signal. It also  helps to have it
placed high and in a central location. It depends on  what's in the walls,
too. Metal, electric lines, etc. can all cause  interference and degrade the
signal. A low signal doesn't necessarily mean  you can't connect. Do you have
a problem getting a connection or are you  just fretting about a low signal?
